Tragedy for AOH Staff - 6/23/11
On Sunday morning 4 little sisters age 9, 11, 11, and 12 years old climbed into a taxi to go to church with the Pastor of one of the Baptist churches in Monrovia, Liberia. Little did they know that was the day sweet Erica age 11 would meet Jesus face to face. Erica was the daughter of one of our nannies in the orphanage who has been with Acres of Hope Liberia since 2005. Erica is dancing with the angels now, and we rejoice that she knew the Lord. Her surviving sisters suffered many injuries and will have a long road to recovery. Their mother will not be able to work any longer as the care of the girls will require her full attention.
If you would like to help support this grieving single mother in her time of need please indicate in the memo on your check to Acres of Hope “Erica”
Thank you and God Bless you.
Patty Anglin, Executive Director

Announcements:
The U.S. Embassy in Monrovia has been informed by the government of Liberia that it will soon issue exit clearances, on a case-by-case basis, to children who’s full and final adoption had been completed prior to January 26, 2009 and approved by Liberia’s Ad-hoc Central Adoption Authority. Prospective adoptive parents who believe their case might fall into this category should contact the Consular Section at adoptionsmonrovia@state.gov to discuss next steps in the visa process.

Dear AOH Families and Friends,
On March 10th, 2009 Melodie Sheppard (Missionary in Liberia), Diaku Juasemai (AOHL Staff member), and Bob Bridges (adoptive parent from the U.S.) participated in a live call-in/talk radio program on Liberia's Star Radio. The topic of discussion was adoption in Liberia. The recording is almost 50 minutes long and includes radio ads along with Liberian English. Their discussion may offer some different insights and perspectives on Liberian Adoption.
